In Black and White
Duke Caldwell & John T. Collett
"The wild places are where we began. When they end, so
do we."
David Brower
John Collett - With my collection
of landscape photographs, I have tried to capture the many images
that represent the shapes, textures, light, and shadows of our
ever-evolving landscape. My photographic interests are in the large
vistas, the truly magnificent panoramas, and those landscapes that
have stood the test of time, weather, evolution, and man. I have
tried to reproduce these images with the same absolute clarity,
honesty, accuracy, and passion as on the day they were recorded
on film.
The effort of capturing these images is easily rewarded for those who are willing
to look and truly appreciate the awesome beauty of the landscape that is available
to us all. We must not take this grandeur for granted.
Take the time to look around you and remember what you have seen, for tomorrow
it will be different, someday even gone.
As with the landscape, I hope some of these images will also withstand the
test of time. If they do, then I am honored, for only then is the cycle complete.
Only then will I have given something back to the places that have fueled so
much imagination, adventure, and passion.
